Project Overview
Yucca Valley, CA

This project is an off-grid homestead in the High Desert. Each casita should instill a feeling of peace. They are being designed as a writer’s pod or a creative person’s sanctuary.
Spatial Considersations
366 sqft

The living space is 366 sqft. So I will be using the large windows, native landscaping, carport, and back/front yards to design a living space that feels expansive, comfy, magical, and fun.
Interior Design
Materials

When I move into the space I’ll know what it needs. As of now, warm whites, neutral carpet, statement / diffused lighting. And strategically placed warm wood panels. Clean lines, minimalist space.

3.1 - 3.6 show references that inspire me for these spaces.

Other considerations are I need: a work space, dining space, bed, lounging area, and storage. Ideally all indoors because summers and winters in the high desert have high temperatures.

Both units have a semi-outdoor utility closet. And both will have a carport, with the laundry in the carport. It’s important to me these outdoor spaces keep a minimalist aesthetic as well, and be comfortable to get to. Doing laundry should also be enjoyable!
